On: Happiness (Number 3)
I chose to shoot with an Instax Mini because of the tight portraiture that the camera provided, which forced me to intimately interact with the people I was shooting instead of simply zooming in. I also set out guidelines for myself to keep the project focused and to motivate me to seek new subjects. Here are my rules:
Each photo must be of a new subject - subjects cannot appear twice within the project, even in other’s photos.
Every activity/object photographed must be unique, too.
One shot only. No retakes.
Subjects must give verbal consent before being photographed (forcing myself to interact with my subjects).
One photo a week of someone I don’t know.
