Let me learn you.
let me learn every nook, every cranny and hidden crevice
to count every beautiful hair on your head, every strand and knot, loop, and twirl
Curl my fingertips through novels of your thoughts and dreams
dreams wettening the body that I yearn to be my fountain of youth, forever calling me to drink
tracing the circumference of your two mirrors, the very ones I cannot bring myself to take mine away from
let me learn the warmth of your lips, over and over and over again
glide my fingers over the soft expanse that is your cheek, memorizing every curve, like smooth sand whisking over the desert and you are my beautiful mirage
let me learn the pressure of your bosom pressed upon mine, and let me not learn what it feels like to be without it
the connection of your soul to mine, your heart to mine, chest to chest, equally
I yearn to be one with you
let me learn the extent to which your body can contort, and if I can match, like two snakes forever entwined in their sultry dance
experiencing every dip, every stretch mark, every corner of your globe
I must sail your seven seas
let me learn the illustrious canvas that is your continent
to caress your Côte D’ivoire
to taste your Tanzania
graze on your Ghana
let me learn you, inside out, first word to last and back again
let me learn every nook, every cranny and hidden crevice
of you.
